My first walk in the lane in 2013! I used the dramatic setting on the camera for all the pictures apart from the rainbow. The dramatic tone seems to sum up the weather we've been having just lately - moody swathes of mist and cloud rolling in from the sea. Intense light and dark. The rainbow was already beginning to fade by the time I'd raced upstairs to retrieve the camera. It was dazzlingly bright and beautiful.
There is an old shed in the lane precariously perched on the edge of a steep bank. Each winter more planks of wood drop off it, and each winter the shed grits its teeth and holds on - for how much longer I wonder?

WOW! What a rainbow.
You were lucky to catch that double rainbow!
Beautiful landscapes.
Happy New Year!
Spectacular rainbow, you do have dramatic weather.
Your photos do look so dramatic and as everyone else mentions that rainbow is amazing!

I love that shed! To me it symbolizes what I imagine to be the constant battle between people and the environment . . . that "will I survive another hard winter" sort of question. (Although I imagine that you take a very different perspective, which is why you're living there and I live in a perennially temperate environment!)
What great photos; they do look dramatic.
Isn't a double rainbow double the luck. It is so beautiful and you live in a stunning country.
What a lovely start to the new year!
Grey skies look so much better in the country! I've been struggling to find anything to photograph since returning to the city from Moray. So I'll enjoy looking at your grey skies rather than mine!
I recall pictures of this shed! It is symbolic of life, planks fall off visibly but surely invisibly a million small lychen-like organisms are strongly attaching the remaining parts to the hill!
Beautiful images. Thank you.

WOW that double rainbow is breathtaking. Happy New Year Annie!
I'd have been tempted to row out to try to catch that point under the rainbow. I've never seen one so vivid.
