Table tops, legs and inspiration...

I finally painted our 1980's Ikea table. Its orange knotty pine legs had been driving me crazy for some considerable time! Now the legs are duck egg blue (it says on the tin) and it is all together more restful on the eye. I did a wishy washy grey on the table top and waxed it like Annie Sloan said. I see so many amazing colours when we're out walking. Niels says you can have too much painted furniture, and I should be careful not to over do it.
But me and Annie Sloan are on a bit of a roll at the minute....

Beautiful Ann and you can still see the lovely grain of the wood. Alison xo

Great result. Tell Niels you can have WAY too much orange knotty pine too! I have made my house infinitely calmer and my junk furniture more bearable because of ASCP. I gave that book to a friend for her birthday recently, and rather think I should order one for myself too!

The results look wonderful. I like the fabric on the chairs, too.

Love it! I am having enough of IKEA pine in our house, but our tables are both extendable ones so they would chip if we painted them. Your colours are so calming.

I was in the Willow Tea Rooms today and was thinking how very much I love painted wood! Your furniture is lovely - very calming colours, as Linda says. And your photos are amazing!

This is very helpful. I have a round pine pedestal table which I have to do something about. Looks like I'll be heading for the Annie Sloan solution.
