Under the spotlight

Yesterday evening  the sun refused to lie down quietly
It must have been around 9.45pm. The glow in the west
shone a spotlight on to the hillside opposite
bathing the houses in sunlight and throwing the hills into sharp relief. Every nook and cranny, often unnoticed, making giant ridges deep in the hillside

The day competing with the night, shadows reaching out.
Slowly the night took control but not before the day had the final word

Incredible pictures. Almost as if the sun had started rising again. How lucky you were to capture all of that and then the bonus rainbow...

Hello Lucille
The advantage of living with this view I suppose is being able to catch it at its most flamboyant and spectacular. On its off days, when it's covered in mist,I can simply put down the camera and concentrate on the vacuum cleaning!
I loved your black and white photos and the swing seat looked so romantic!

Yes a good view can be very distracting. Even just plain old city sunshine makes me restless. I want to be out in it and not wielding any form of household appliance.

In truth I suppose it doesn't even need to be much of a view to distract from all those repetitive house hold chores!
I've posted a comment (I hope!) on your blog, under "My favourite dress" I got very excited when I remembered my favourite dress. I've put in a link, but you'll need to copy and paste it in.
